Living the good life

Most of us can agree that when we don’t take care of ourselves physically our bodies suffer.  When we put our physical health on the back burner we often end up overweight and stressed out.  At times we may even end up with potentially debilitating diseases such as diabetes, arthritis, heart disease, etc.

While dealing with our physical health is often challenging dealing with mental health issues presents an even greater challenge.

Let’s face it, most people don’t want to spend the time, effort or money on their mental health.  But it’s important to remember that your emotional and psychological happiness are as essential to your overall well being as your physical health.

Let’s look at some of the benefits of good quality therapy:

  • Greater self-esteem
  • Improved interpersonal relationships
  • Alleviation of depression and anxiety
  • More positive, hopeful thinking
  • Greater intimacy
  • Less stress
  • Balance between work and personal life
  • Greater ability to cope with life’s problems
  • Etc.

So if you are looking to become happier and improve the QUALITY of your life then it is essential to make your mental health a high priority item.

In the end, you have to ask yourself this question:  Do I deserve to be happy?

As a therapist, and a human being, I believe the answer should be a resounding YES!
